What to Bring to Your First Class
All fencing equipment is provided for members and non-members. Beginners do not need any fencing gear for the first three months.
Bring the following:
- Comfortable t-shirt (you will receive an official MKFA t-shirt on registration)
- Long black tracksuit pants
- Non-marking indoor sports shoes
- Water bottle
After three months, fencers are encouraged to purchase their own gear. Browse our online shop or visit the equipment page for guidance.
Class Guidelines
To keep our training safe and enjoyable, we ask all participants to follow these guidelines:
Attire: Wear the official MKFA t-shirt provided at registration. Beyond helping coaches identify fencers easily, it also builds a strong sense of identity, belonging, and pride as part of the MKFA community.
Clothing: Long black tracksuit pants are required. They provide flexibility and protection during training.
Hydration: Bring a water bottle. Take regular breaks to stay hydrated during classes.
Footwear: Indoor trainers or sports shoes are mandatory. Proper shoes give you stability and grip during footwork drills.
Following these guidelines helps every fencer stay focused, safe, and ready to train.
Waiver of Liability (Mandatory)
Every participant must complete a waiver of liability form before their first class. This is a strict requirement. No one may participate without a completed form.

UAE Fencing Federation Registration
We recommend all fencers register with the UAE Fencing Federation to obtain a licence. A licence is required to compete in any official event.
Events that require a licence include:
- MKFA Cup Series
- MKFA International Epee Cup
- International Fencing Camps
- Seminars and all UAE Fencing Federation competitions
Documents needed for registration:
- Passport copy (front page)
- Visa copy (visa page)
- 2 passport photos (digital)
- Medical certificate confirming fitness for fencing
Registration fees:
- Emiratis: 200 AED per person
- Expatriates: 250 AED per person
